Silvia Monti, an Italian actress born Silvia Cornacchia, died Aug. 12, 2026, at 80, according to la Repubblica. She appeared in Gérard Oury’s 1969 film Il cervello (released in English as The Brain).
Monti made her film debut in Alberto Lattuada’s 1969 film Fräulein Doktor. In 1971, she appeared in Lucio Fulci’s Una lucertola con la pelle di donna (released in English as A Lizard in a Woman’s Skin).
In Alberto Sordi’s 1974 film Finché c’è guerra c’è speranza, Monti played Silvia, the wife of arms dealer Pietro Chiocca. His lucrative business financed the family’s luxurious lifestyle. After the film’s reported success, Monti left acting and stepped back from public life to focus on her family.
