Diab Al-Louh, a Palestinian diplomat and Fatah politician who served as Palestine’s ambassador to Egypt, died in Cairo on Aug. 9, 2026, at 67, Egypt Today reported.
Israel imprisoned him during his youth for involvement in the Palestinian national movement. From 1994 to 2005, he founded and edited Al-Karama, the official weekly publication of Fatah, the Palestinian political movement, while holding media and organizational posts.
From 2005 to 2017, he served as Palestine’s ambassador to China, Yemen and Mauritania, with a senior role at the Foreign Ministry between the China and Yemen assignments. A Palestinian presidential decree appointed him ambassador to Egypt and Palestine’s permanent representative to the Arab League on Nov. 1, 2017. On Feb. 22, 2023, he used that regional post to request an urgent meeting of the Arab League’s permanent representatives to discuss the Israeli assault on Nablus and seek a collective Arab and international response to protect Palestinians.
